RANONG HOTSPRINGS

The hot springs are situated in Raksawarin Park, very close to Ranong town. The park has a river running through it and the springs are on the banks of the river. Many restaurants and coffee shops are situated in the park and these, coupled together with the natural, mountainous surroundings make for a pleasant experience.

The hotsprings were opened in 1977 by Her Royal Highness Princess Srinakarindra ( the Princess Mother). The thai name 'Raksawarin' means "WATER THAT CAN CURE DISEASE". The springs are very popular with asian and foreign tourists alike because the water is sulpher free and is drinkable. The temperature of the springs is always around 65 degrees celsius. The Local Government has constructed wading pools with water from the springs flowing into them. The pools are at varying temperatures so you should be able to find the temperature that suits you.
