HAT SOM PAEN TEMPLE

On the same road as the HOT SPRINGS after about 7kms you come to the village of HAT SOM PAEN. This was a former tin-mining community. At the temple visitors can feed fruit to the huge Carp
in the temple stream.

The faithful believe these Carp are "thewada", an Angel of sorts. It is not allowed to catch and eat them. Legend has it that if you eat them you will contract leprosy.
